Mexico City’s cable Bus is a new concept in Mass Transit. As if life wasn’t already dangerous enough.
Property in Mexico City is very expensive (for us here). As such, there is a large section on the East side of the city that have a lot of people that work in the center of town. Students also going to Universities in the center of the city. Unfortunately, there is a main highway some 8 lanes wide that cuts between this section of town and the center of town, and there is not any bridges that easily affords crossing the highway.
So the Mexico City government has made a cable car type system they are calling a cable bus. Each car holds about 4 people maximum, and it is something akin to a ski lodge system where the car slowly and people jump in quickly, and off it goes.
I have never ridden on it, and I doubt I would ever want to ride it either.
