Missionary Presentations Openings and Closings
Missionary Presentations Openings and Closings
By David Cox
In this video by a professional presentation trainer, we hear how to begin and end a presentation. The opening and closing of a missionary presentation are extremely important in making a good impression on people. The opening is the first impression you give to people. The closing should wrap up things and bring the focus to what you want them to remember about you and your ministry.
Openings – You need to get people’s attention from the beginning. You need to capture your audience’s attention from the beginning, establishing believeability and credibility. You need to establish your rapport with the audience. It is correct to establish what you have done (your credentials). You need to generate interest before you get into your presentation as well. WIIFM – What’s in it for me. What is the audience’s take away from your presentation. What is revelant, useful, and pressing to this audience. If you fail here, they will bail on your throughout the presentation.
2-3 minutes maximum. You need to identify with the audience trying to generate common elements between you and the audience. Doctrine, experiences, beliefs, convictions, etc.
Closings – Leave the audience with a clear focus on what you want to leave with them. Make a call to action for them. Summarize what you have said up to this point.
