Aristole’s three points of persuasion

This post is a commentary on TEDS youtube.com video called “What Aristotle and Joshua Bell can teach us about persuasion“.

The video talks about famous violinist Joshua Bell, who played one day before thousands in a concert hall, and 3 days later in a metro and nobody listened to him.

The point is that the speaker sees Aristolte’s three points as entering. The three means of persuasion.

Logos – Something is logical to the listeners. Good rules of logic, makes sense to the audience.

Ethos – Something is reknown and recognized by the audience. Authority = confidence + clear presentation.

Pathos – Something the audience feels from the environment.
